QuickBooks Point of Sale pin pad error
A recent change to QuickBooks Point of Sale is there is now a requirement for the IPP350 pin pads to be rebooted every 24 hours. This is a new PCI compliance standard, however it only affects the IPP3V4 pin pads. You can determine the model of your pin pad by flipping it over and looking at the sticker located midway down. By default the pin pad is set to reboot at 3 A.M. (see photo below). You can change the default time by going to file, settings, workstation. Under the Pin Pads section is a box to set your preferred reboot time. We suggest that you set it to happen during non business hours. This setting will not take affect for 24 hours.If you leave your point of sale open and the pin pad reboots you will have the error message pictured above, simply log out and sign back into your QuickBooks Point of Sale.
